About Mike Warren
My artistic inspiration changes from time to time. Most recently, I’ve been interested in the American West. Horses, cattle, people, scenery. I love music, but having been born without a rhythm gene, I don’t play a traditional instrument, I don’t sing, and I really don’t dance. But it’s all the same isn’t it? I paint – sometimes a jingle, sometimes a pop hit – I hope to deliver some jazz classics and maybe a symphony or two. Sometimes the most satisfying work is just tuning noises. I want my art to be visually satisfying. The parts don’t always fit. Can rodeo exist in the modern world? Is childhood really lost? I try different methods. I explore. It’s not an exact science. The vision can be fleeting, like a shadow in the corner of my eye. Sometimes I catch it before it fades.
